Since 1880, the Antonio Garau Dairy, the oldest in Sardinia and listed among Italy's historic companies, has been producing Sardinian cheeses with a focus on excellent taste and quality. Only milk from Sardinian pasture-raised cows, fed on typical local grasses and shrubs, is used. This is how cheeses naturally rich in omega-3 fatty acids are produced. The cheeses are among the most awarded in the world's most prestigious competitions. In 2025 alone, they took the world podium 24 times, receiving 7 medals at the World Cheese Awards 2025, 7 medals at the International Cheese & Dairy Awards 2025, at the Great Taste 2025 with 8 stars for 6 cheeses, and at the Mondial du Fromage with 4 medals. They also received the Oscar in Italy at the Italian Cheese Awards 2025 with Piccolo Giunco as the best Italian cheese in the fresh category.
