The Spanu Family has been in the wholesale and itinerant trade of fish products and derivatives since 1956. In 1986 the Spanu Bottarga company was founded, the first production and commercial reality located in Cabras. We produce, following strict ancient methods, a unique delicacy called the caviar of the Mediterranean: botargo. A symbol of the Sardinian food and wine tradition and haute cuisine, it is a prized food with an ancient history. In 1998, the Penisola del Sinis - Isola di Mal di Ventre Marine Protected Area was established to protect an ecosystem of interaction between biotic and abiotic factors that ensure a unique and incomparable dynamic balance of self-sustaining biodiversity. Preserving a Millennial Tradition is an act of pure love, a gesture capable of preserving time and transforming it into eternal flavor.
